INFORMATION REG- SAILORS WHO COMPLETED 10 YEARS OF INITIAL ENGAGEMENT PERIOD

SUPREME COURT JUDGEMENTS dated 8/12/2016 Re engagement of the Applicant who joined Indian Navy as a Direct Entry Diploma Holder(DEDH) with an initial engagement of 10 years as acting Electrical Artificer is to be granted 5 years of National service as per Navy Order No. 2 of 2007 , Para.9(c) and policy, dated 21-11-2016

In facts and circumstances, the Appelant is entitled for addition of 5 years National Service to the period of 10 years which he has already served for the purpose of being eligible for pensionary benefits. He will not be entitled for salary and allowances for the said period of 5 years. applellant shall be entitled to claim all service benefits to which he is entitled by being treated as having completed 15 years of services
