National Commission imposed 12% penalty on Jaypee Group

The National Consumer Disputes Redress Commission has imposed a penalty of 12% to the Jaypee Group for not delivering the flats in its Kalypso Court project based at Noida, In due time. The NCDRC also ordered the company to pay Rs.5,000 per day per flat if it fails to give possession by July 21 this year.

In 2008 buyers booked their homes in Kalypso Court project a part of Jay Pee Greens, in sec – 128 in Noida and deliveries were scheduled per 2012. The company promised to deliver home within 39 months but failed to give in given time. Then the buyers approached the NCDRC for justice. The buyers claimed they had paid 90% of the cost of their homes. The NCDRC also said that the builder can’t claim extra money from the buyers without their prior consent. This judgement will pressurise the Builders to give flats in given time. It is a great judgement and it will boost the moral of the home buyers
